The Museum of Modern Art La Tertulia, is located in the area known as the Rock to the west of the city on Colombia Avenue which runs parallel to the Rio Cali, between huge trees, beautiful green areas and water sources, which formerly was located spa town.
Born from the initiative of a group of scholars and artists who met regularly to hold gatherings and entertaining talks on art and cultural affairs of the city, hence its name. Its construction is shown of modern architecture flourished in the 60's, inspired by the great Greek temples that house the buildings between large columns and today is recognized as a symbol of the city.
La Tertulia is a cultural complex consists of a large exhibition hall ready for the exhibition of drawings, paintings, prints and sculptures by national and international artists, which also made releases and cultural events and relevant plastic in Valle del Cauca and the country, two auditoriums, shops and restaurants Graphics, a small art shop and several apartments for visiting artists, a traveling exhibition hall, outdoor theater, the basement and the film library, which constantly projects non-commercial films cinema and art. The latest building endowed the museum with a library, cafeteria and ample parking.
The Museum of Modern Art offers a complete La Tertulia programming throughout the year, in addition to courses and educational activities for children and adults.
Hours: Tuesday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Closed Sundays and holidays.
Rates: Free admission for children under 4 years, adults over 70, disabled and members of SISBEN.
